One Year

My baby boy is One! He had a low-key birthday. We had planned on going to the aquarium, but Daddy was sick so we went to have lunch and play at a mall playground with a good friend and her kids. Baby G loves to play in these playgrounds, he chases the older kids and laughs and squeals. He's so eager to be one of the big kids!

In the evening Daddy was feeling better, so we took our little Bug to Toys R Us for their birthday treatment. They gave him a balloon and a gift card, so we got him a great pool/ball pit/game thingy that he played in at a friend's birthday party last weekend.

We're having a big party for him next weekend. All his little friends are coming, as well as family and grown-up friends. With the holiday, we didn't want to have the party this weekend, fearing many people would be out of town or have other plans. We've rented a gazebo in a local park that also has a playground, a water play area, and an indoor space with toys and books and computers. It should be a lot of fun, and since our Bug is a people person, the crowd will be right up his alley.

I won't get my "special" gift for him done in time, but that's okay. Grandma is making him a playhouse, and his Great-Grandmother sent him a gift card with which we got him a water table and some water/sand toys to play with, so we'll set those up at the party as well.

I'll post pictures. My camera ran out of room yesterday (we finally made it to the aquarium), and I realized I have pics on there as far back as Mother's Day. I'm transferring them now and will upload the best of the best when I have a chance.
