more coming

There is a whole flurry of Christmas Photos on the way. They're currently uploading to Flickr - if you have an account and are listed as "friend" or "family," you'll be able to see them all shortly.

We had a wonderful Christmas this year! There is nothing like Baby's 1st. We even got the tree up and decorated (Christmas Eve, but it was done!) and found the holiday spirit despite the fact that Baby G and I were both sick for a week before Christmas. Sinus infections, oh the joy. (Note: We still have Christmas presents and cards coming out. We were delayed a bit by the Sick, but we're slowly catching up!)

We decided that we wanted a simple homespun Christmas this year. I made most of the gifts that we gave (or are sending), and kept the frenzy to a minimum. From Mom and Dad, Baby G got the jumperoo featured in the next post down, a set of stacking bowls, a bat-around blow-up penguin, and one of those wire/bead/roller-coaster-looking things that babies tend to like. And continuing a tradition my mom started with me and my sister, I made him a gift - a little stuffed block with a different texture fabric on each side. I want to make him a set, but I managed to make him one before Christmas. Again, set back by the Sick.

Gifts poured in from across the country. Many thanks to all of you who sent him something special for his first Christmas! With all the generosity and thoughtfulness, it still wasn't an overwhelming pile of gifts and Baby G had a fun time learning how to tear into packaging and discovering new toys. He is a very loved little boy, and we thank you all for that!

Stay tuned for pictures! Or if you're reading this after I posted the pics, I hope you enjoyed them! Happy Holidays, and the very best of New Years to you!
